How to Make Perfect Bacon Every Time: A Chef Shares Her Pro Cooking Tip for Making the Best Bacon In 15 Minutes

Pan frying bacon on the stove can be messy and full of splatters, which can be dangerous when you have littles roaming about waiting for breakfast or brunch. Try this professional chef technique that yields perfectly crisp and delicious bacon every time – and simplifies cleanup (without skimping on flavor).

Here’s how you do it:

  • Lay the bacon side by side (it's OK if it overlaps) on the rack. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven, turning once throughout process until brown and crisp, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and drain bacon on paper towels.
  • Turn the oven off, crack and allow baking sheet and foil to cool down. Once cooled, roll up the foil and discard. The cookie rack will also have easy cleanup due to the nonstick cooking spray!

Using this cooking hack, you can have your bacon and eat it, too!

Sometimes I cook bacon in the microwave. Lay it on a plate, cover with a paper towel and zap it for about 6-8 minutes, depending on how many slices and how thick. I'm going to try this way the next time. Bet it would be crispier. Thanks for the tip, Chef Gigi Gaggero!

I love this Chef Gigi Gaggero! This is my favorite way to cook bacon and it means that busy moms can step away and get dressed or do something else while the bacon is cooking!

I always cook bacon this way! Except for the foil part. I will do that the next time for easier cleanup. We go camping every month and love to have bacon for breakfast. I cook up the bacon prior to our trip and then just need to heat it up a bit in the morning. Way easy!

That's how I make Candy Bacon. Press both sides of bacon slices with brown sugar. But in the name of everything holy, do NOT touch the bacon until it's had a minute or so to cool. Ouch!

I always do it in the oven but have never thought of using a rack. A broiler pan works too!
