Dr Tevin Naidu is a medical doctor, philosopher & television presenter – best known for his role as the host of South Africa’s most popular Asian lifestyle & entertainment television shows: Eastern Mosaic (on SABC2) & Mela (on SABC3). He is an accomplished musician, award winning Tablaist & a former Mr. India South Africa. Tevin is also well-known as a castaway on Survivor South Africa: Philippines (on MNet, Mzanzi Magic & Showmax). He obtained a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MB,ChB) degree from Stellenbosch University & is pursuing a Masters degree in the Philosophy & Ethics of Mental Health via the University of Pretoria. Tevin’s research focuses on schizophrenia’s impact on consciousness, psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, & mindfulness meditation’s effect on mental health. After his extensive travels to India & China, Tevin retired from the entertainment industry to focus on his passion for the mind & mental health. He spent a year working as a community service medical officer for the South African Military Health Services (SAMHS) – a branch of the South African National Defense Force (SANDF). Tevin, now a psychiatry medical officer, notes that our planet has become infected with misinformation, disinformation, propaganda & hate-speech. To help counter this pernicious disease, equipped with a background in psychiatry, philosophy & presenting, Tevin is set to launch a podcast dedicated to understanding the human mind in both its physiological and pathological forms.
