Want to Empower Your Kids & Boost Their Self-Esteem? Then You (& They!) Have a Decision to Make! by Ali Mathis

Letting your children make decisions for themselves whenever possible boosts their self-esteem. And it may make them more likely to cooperate in situations when they don't have a choice. For example:

  • They have to eat their vegetables, but you can let them select which vegetable you make for dinner.
  • They have to get dressed, but you can let them pick out which shirt they want to wear.

Kids feel more empowered (when most of the time they don't have much control), and everyone's happy!
