Applying for College: Relax, Mom & Dad, High School Senior Stress Will Pass

The college application process is a lot like giving birth: I forget how painful it is because the kids end up happily ensconced in a college. Yes, no matter what, your senior will get into a school. And, with luck, she'll be happy there and have the best four years (or so) of her life.

The process is the worst. Yes, my senior has taken the tests, worked with the counselor, written draft essays, but I am the nervous wreck. I know the outcome will be wonderful, wherever he ends up. Your senior will be happy.

Know that you'll forget this pain when the acceptance letters arrive!
