Bee a Time Keeper Clock: Teach Kids How to Tell Time With This Fun and Educational Clock by Cheryl Leahy

My kids are constantly asking me how long until we go somewhere or do something. Because they can't tell time yet, they aren't able to answer the questions for themselves – they depend on me to update them.

Time is an abstract concept, but when children understand it they are able to develop better self-regulation and transitional skills. I reviewed the Bee a Time Keeper Clock from 30Seconds contributor and speech and language pathologist Mindy Hudon, which is a child-friendly analog clock that helps children learn the concept of keeping time. The clock has various colorful critters on the face and gives parents a point of reference that children understand when discussing time.

My kids loved watching the "Bee," which is the minute hand, creep toward the critter that signified the time we discussed. They understood how fast or slow time passed, as well as the concept that time is finite – the more time we "keep" the more time we have to do things we enjoy.

The Bee a Time Keeper Clock retails for $35 on Etsy and is appropriate for kids ages 3-9.
