Teaching Boys About Love: 5 Things I Wish I Had Been Taught About Love During Childhood by Joe Campbell

I am not a relationship expert. I am not an parenting expert. I certainly am not an expert on boys. But I was a boy once. Growing up, I considered myself lucky to have received wisdom about love from some trusted adults. That wisdom and knowledge helped me become the man I am today. But there are a lot of things I wish others had explained to me when I was younger:
- Love is good for mental health.
- If you're sweet and kind to someone, they'll probably do most anything to make you happy.
- Physical love is great, but when it includes emotional and spiritual love it's like a remedy for the intense stress and strain of modern life. As an adult, that is going to be very important.
- I wish someone had told me over and over again, "You are going to be a kind, sensitive lover."
- I wish someone had told me over and over again, "Be as kind to her as you can. She will love you for it."
Love is so important. Boys grow up and become men with "raging hormones," endless desire and the potential to experience incredible ecstasy with another.
