Remembering Moms Who Are No Longer With Us: A Tribute to My Mom on Mother's Day

This is my first Mother’s Day without Mom. She passed away in January, the week she was to turn 89. It wasn’t unexpected. She had lived a long, healthy and productive life. So, this Mother’s Day I would like to celebrate my appreciation for Mom and all of her endearing qualities:

  • Mom was an incredible role model. How lucky I was to have a woman who practiced exactly what she believed. She never said one thing and did another. She was true to herself, her friends and family. I hope my children can say the same about me.
  • Mom always showed love. Everything about her ─ her attitude toward life was positive. I don’t recall her dealing with a problem in a negative way. It was always with that ever so positive approach. I hope I can show the same attitude toward all the daily issues that come up.
  • Everything Mom did was with other people in mind. She was never concerned about herself, always about someone else. Because of her selfless attitude, she never stressed about life. That in turn, kept her healthy and happy. What a wonderful quality!

Love you, Mom! Miss you every day.
