Paula's Choice Skin Care: Founder Paula Begoun Talks About the Benefits of Niacinamide for Acne & Eczema

Paula Begoun struggled with acne and eczema for years, and when she began reading the labels on her products, and saw what was in some of them, she made a choice. Fast forward and Paula's Choice Skin Care has generated a devoted following. 30Seconds Beauty talked to Paula about her line of Boost serums and the benefits of the 10-percent niacinamide booster

"Also known as vitamin B3, niacinamide is among the most versatile ingredients for all skin types, all ages," Paula said. "Niacinamide works with the natural substances in your skin to visibly improve enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, and a weakened barrier. Topical application of niacinamide has been shown to boost the hydrating ability of moisturizers and increase ceramide synthesis in skin."

This is important "because skin’s moisture-locking, texture-enhancing protective barrier is composed of 50 percent ceramides, and these get depleted from age, environmental exposure."

Try the niacinamide boost (or her other boosts) either alone or added to your favorite moisturizer.
