3 Simple Ways to Feel Like a Beautiful Badass When Life Goes Bonkers

As a working mom in a creative, deadline-driven field, it never fails that work and home life collide in epic fashion. It’s easy to let self-care slide at times like these. But I’ve found that if I look put together, I feel put together. Here are a few tips that make me feel like a beautiful badass, ready to take on the world:

  • Gel Manicures: I love having my nails painted a flashy nail color, but peeled and chipped polish only accentuates how much I need to work on self-care. Investing in gel a few times a year when I know I won’t have time to keep up myself, takes pressure off, and lets me know I can be ready to look my best at a moment’s notice.
  • Eyebrow Maintenance: There have been moments I’ve caught a glimpse of myself in the right light and realized how little attention I’ve been paying to myself. A few minutes with a set of tweezers can do wonders. I might start keeping some in the car, because that's the mirror that gets me most.
  • Red Lipstick Selfies: If you want to feel on top of your game, get a tube of red lipstick. Slow down long enough to carefully apply, and then pucker up for a selfie. This always makes me feel glamorous and powerful at the same time.

Tribe, take your red lipstick selfie and use the hashtag #redlipstickselfie and #30Seconds, and be sure to also share it below!

I love this! I tend to wear bright colors (as opposed to my go-to blacks and greys) when I need a pick-me up. But I should try a bright lip color! You have always rocked a red lip, Jen Imbaro ! Welcome to the tribe!

I find doing yoga helps me the most, it reminds me to stand tall, breathe deeply and be flexible. All really important to not losing it in times of chaos.
