Straps on Your Sandals Too Loose? Try This Free & Easy DIY Fix for Loose Sandal Straps

Sometimes the straps on sandals just don’t have enough holes in them to be snug enough on our heel. Walking is uncomfortable and we fear losing a shoe. No worries! And no need to run to the cobbler!

  • Simply lay the strap flat on a surface you don’t mind scuffing, like a piece of wood.
  • Mark the next notch up from the last hole with a small pen mark.
  • Hammernail into the strap, making a hole. If the hole from the nail isn’t big enough, work it open a little more with the tine of a fork.

You’re finished! You can walk with confidence and your sandal won’t pop off like Cinderella’s.
