Pregnancy Snacks: 6 Healthy Snack Options for Mom-to-Be Under 300 Calories!

Who doesn't like to snack? Pregnant moms only need 300 extra calories a day, despite what we'd like to think. All of our bodies and cravings are different. What is most important is what we put in our bodies for nourishment and the amazing baby growing inside of us. Here are some of my favorite snack combinations and mini meals I enjoyed with all four of my pregnancies:

Greek Yogurt Combo
1 cup Greek yogurt (100 calories)
1/2 cup blueberries (43 calories)
1/2 cup strawberries ( 24 calories)
20 almonds (140 calories)

Hummus and Veggie Stix Combo
1/2 cup hummus (200 calories)
2 celery stalks (12 calories)
1 medium carrot (25 calories)
1 cup raw broccoli (30 calories)
1 cucumber (45 calories)

Eggs and Avocado With Fruit Combo
2 large eggs (147 calories)
1/2 of an avocado (120 calories)
1/2 cup strawberries (24 calories)

Fruit Salad
1 sliced banana (105 calories)
1/2 cup sliced strawberries (24 calories)
1 orange (87 calories)
1 apple (95 calories)

Cottage Cheese and Cantaloupe Combo
1 cup cottage cheese (200 calories)
1/2 cantaloupe (94 calories)

Large Baked Sweet Potato (just under 300 calories)
1 large cooked sweet potato
pat of butter
sprinkling of brown sugar
cinnamon

Such great ideas. I'm with Alice V ; these are great for everyone, not just pregnant moms!
Meredith Schneider
Yes Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead, agree :-) keep in mind for weight loss there needs to be a calorie deficit. This of course will vary depending on each individuals goals and what their starting point is. This is to help those who are pregnant to be sure and get enough healthy calories for Mom & Baby xoxoxox

I was addicted to plain turkey sandwiches and lemonade (this was my morning sickness go-to meal). For snacks, I always chose salty, like popcorn, or savory, like hummus. Thank you, Meredith Schneider !
