Family Portrait Fears? Relax! How to Get a Good Shot No Matter What!

I am terrified of taking a family portrait; not because I am concerned that I will have a bad hair day, but because my son might have a bad mood day! I recently took him for a photo shoot where he cried throughout 90 percent of the poses, and we had to end the session early. 

My sister found a way to still capture a great family photo when your child is not in the best mood (see photo below). Since children somehow manage to be adorable in photos even when they are grumpy, take a cue from them! Turn your smile upside down and roll with it!

This is awesome, Cheryl Leahy . A friend of mine and I had always talked about taking our kids out for ice cream before taking them to the portrait studio. Let them get good and messy. Never did that but wish I had. Those are the best shots. Love your sister's pic.
