Kids Want to Ride Shotgun in the Car? Here Are the Requirements!

When I was younger, my siblings and I always had the fight over who got to ride shotgun. That fight should no longer exist. At least that’s one less battle parents have to fight. Why?

  • No child younger than 13 should sit in the front seat of a car.
  • If a child is shorter than 4 feet, 9 inches, even if they are older than 13, they should still sit in the back.

Vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of death in children, but with increased safety measures and guidelines in place, we’ve seen those numbers start to decline.
