Alex Bryant Honored As "Modern Men of Distinction" Nominee at the 2019 Black Men XCEL Awards by Donna John

Excelling in his field is nothing new to Alex Bryant. The social media pro, influencer and television producer has an Emmy Award and recognition as an Oprah Winfrey Network Ambassador. Alex recently took his first trip to Miami – and not for a vacation. Alex was named by Black Enterprise as one of their 2019 Modern Men of Distinction honorees at the 2019 Black Men XCEL Awards.

“Surrounded by black excellence and humbled to be honored by a publication I admired as a small boy, Black Enterprise!” writes Alex. “Last night’s 2019 Black Men XCEL Awards were a strong reminder of what comes great opportunity leads to great responsibility, while to also honor those who blazed the path for an inclusive and sustainable future.”

The Black Men XCEL Summit is a four-day “gathering of inspiration and enlightenment that recognizes the contributions, leadership and excellence of black men.” In its third year, the summit is sponsored by FedEx, with presenting sponsors AT&T and Prudential; platinum sponsor Georgia-Pacific/Koch Industries; corporate sponsors Apple and Walmart; and gold sponsor Accenture. Held at the JW Turnberry Miami Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida, the event “uplifts men of color by enriching them with opportunities to learn and network while spoiling them with leisure, fun and relaxation,” writes Black Enterprise.

Currently, Alex is a social media manager for ACM SIGGRAPH. “I am surrounded by dedicated multicultural professionals in the computer graphics industry and academia who all work together to cultivate a welcoming community for art, design and technology,” Alex told Black Enterprise.
