The Grammy® Awards After Party: A 30Seconds Contributor Was There!

My husband and I won tickets to the Grammy® Awards, which included tickets to the official Grammy® After Party (I still can't believe it)! We pulled up to the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and entered a line that we stood in for about 25 minutes to even enter the party. The after party required a separate ticket, and the only people who could buy tickets were Grammy® Academy members, people who work for the Grammys, and people given tickets by CBS (I was in the latter group).

Again, we were forced to go through a security check, and then walked up four flights of stairs to get to the first level of the party, which was coat check. Then we walked up another flight of stairs to food, drinks and a jazz concert. The food was amazing, and everything was beautiful. The only drawback was the lines. We had to wait for at least 20 minutes to get a cocktail and 10 minutes at the food stations.

There were three party floors in total, and after each flight of stairs we climbed there was another bar and more food. Each floor also had its own set of live music in a large ballroom that was transformed into a beautiful concert venue. There was food from various cultures and a killer dessert buffet!

We drank, ate and danced until 2:30 a.m., and then called it quits and limped home with our sore feet to prepare for the epic hangover that was bound to follow! But it was so worth it to have a once-in-a-lifetime party experience with hubby!
