Are Your Kids at a Loss for Words to Express How They're Feeling? Try This Fun Tip!

Encouraging our little ones to identify their feelings not only helps to minimize meltdowns, it has real long-term benefits, too. Recognizing feelings is critical in:

  • building healthy relationships
  • focusing on what matters
  • reducing stress
  • making good choices

Children that don't learn how to navigate emotions effectively will be at a major disadvantage as teens and young adults. One of my favorite ways to help others learn about their feelings is with eMotion Feeling Cards. The next time your child is at a loss for words on how they are feeling, try them. Model how to use the cards by pulling out one, two, three or even four emotions that describe how you are feeling in the moment. The long-term benefits will leave you feeling ecstatic!

Movement is a great way to help kids express emotion and build empathy. Try even embodying the eMotion cards for an added bonus!
