What’s the Best Way to Teach Kids Gratitude? Find Out!

I began making an effort to thank my kids daily as a way of developing my own sense of gratitude. Maybe it's for something as simple as picking up socks off the floor. What I've discovered is that this is the simplest way to teach them to be thankful. They now often thank me, too.

"Thanks for dinner.”

“Thanks for taking me."

It's all stuff we have to do anyway, "the price of family life," as I call it. But if this simple practice makes us all aware of being kind to and expressing gratitude to each other, it's worth sharing. Kids mirror what they see and hear.
